Generating the Images
To generate the images, I use Midjourney. After signing up for the paid version, you can use the Imagine command to generate images. For instance, type “/Imagine fashion photography girl in the eighties with colorful outfit in a studio, extremely detailed, photography” and press enter. It takes less than 60 seconds to generate the image. Midjourney outputs four images, and then you can choose which one to upscale. The minimum required size for Adobe Stock and Dreamstime is 4MP, so upscaling is a necessary step.
Upscaling and Customization
To upscale your image, use Topaz Gigapixel AI or any other preferred tool, and be mindful of not losing quality during the process. Once the image is upscaled, crop out any unnecessary areas and customize it to your preferences. You can add some room for copy or print, as this amount of customization is essential for selling images online.
Title and Description
The title of your image plays an essential role in its visibility on stock photography websites, so make it count. Choose a unique and catchy title, keeping in mind the kind of image you have generated. The keywords you use should also be relevant to the image, and the description should convey enough information about the image for potential buyers. Adobe Stock won't require it, but it's necessary to put in accurate descriptions, especially for Dreamstime.
Submitting Your Image
Next, you will need to upload the image to the stock photography websites. While uploading, ensure that you have met all the requirements like labeling your image as ‘Created using generative AI tools.' Additionally, follow the guidelines for recognizable people or possessions and set the appropriate category as ‘Illustration.' For Dreamstime, one of your categories must be ‘Illustrations and clipart AI generated.‘
